Recreation

A chance to meet and enjoy the company of others in the community Ulster-Greene ARC’s Family Support Recreation services are available to individuals who are living at home with natural family members.  This service is for teens and adults with developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorder living within Ulster and Greene Counties. Family Support Recreation provides fun, rewarding activities for individuals, allowing family members to relax or pursue other activities. Weekday, afternoon or weekend events facilitate socialization and communication skills, money management, physical and intellectual growth, and enjoyment of new endeavors.

Also, with many of the activities being offered within the community or with community members, recreation events become authentic inclusion settings. Individuals and families provide input regarding types of activities they are interested in; participation in any given event is optional.

Other recreational opportiunities offered are:
Loft Parties the fourth Wednesday of every month;
Chess club meets the first Thursday of every month;
Gamimg Club meets the fourth Thursday of every month.

Please speak with your service coordinator for additional information.
